This morning we hosted @phoenix_cm with guest speaker @juliakarrys at our Christown Spectrum studio. Julia have a wonderful and informative talk about how art - especially clay - can help us to heal from trauma. (See our stories for excerpts!)

This little hanging planter is shipping out to Maryland today. For those who haven't followed me for a while, I started painting the sunflower and hummingbird motif after losing my mom in 2021 to symbolize our relationship. I usually only paint them between her birthday in March and Mother's Day each year, but sometimes I will create them whenever I'm missing her. I hope this one brings peace and comfort whenever the new owner looks at it. ❤️

I have only a few pieces left in my @etsy shop and at the studio, but I'm happy to make some if anyone is interested in ordering. I'm missing her lately, so creating a few would be cathartic.

Parents are welcome to stay with their child if desired, but those wishing to create their own project alongside their child will need to purchase an additional ticket.

Perfect for beginners interested in both clay hand building and candle making! In this two-part workshop, you will first learn to craft your own ceramic candle containers from clay with Laurie. Use clay slabs to construct your own candle holders and personalize with texture stamps and glazes.

Then, return to the studio after your projects have been fired to learn how to pour your own candles. Candles will be made of all-natural soy wax, and you will learn how to choose the right wicks, add scents, and so much more!

Once candles burn out, the ceramic container can be cleaned and reused as a cup forever!
