Today I decided to teach myself how to knit a winter hat. 🧶This was much harder than I thought and didn’t turn out at ALL like the YouTube tutorial. 🤪😂 This is my fourth attempt this afternoon and I also discovered that the pink color actually looks like I’m wearing a brain on the outside of my head. 🧠🤣 Hoping if I add a cute pom pom it will hide the mistakes on the top and save the day. 😉😂

Going to try again so maybe I can make some cute hats for the grand babies. Or maybe a scarf will be easier…🧣

The moral of the story is don’t give up when trying to learn a new skill or art form. ❤️🌞🌻

If you want to try your hand at finger knitting, I do have a chunky knit blanket class coming up on 11/23 and I am much better at making those. 🤣

My daughter Kimber asked me to make her some bowls for Christmas, so after trimming these, I DROPPED one and one side got squished. To make lemonade out of lemons, I turned it into a cat shaped bowl instead! 😸 Chloe has since claimed the cat bowl as hers, so production on Kimber’s bowl set continues. 🤣

Pottery - like life - is full of ups & downs, unexpected surprises and challenges. And just like in life, you have to learn to roll with those punches and do the best you can. ❤️

Hooray for fall leaves that we don’t have to rake! 🍂🍁🍂 In this fun hand building class, create a wall hanging mobile of a fall leaves by cutting leaf templates out of clay slabs. Leaves will be painted with underglazes, and you will experiment with sgraffito techniques by carving or stamping the glaze away. The fired pieces can be assembled on a clay slab wreath, or left without a base to hang vertically or horizontally on a branch.

This is a single fire project and all finished work will be available for pick up two weeks after class.

Class will be held Wednesday, 11/5 from 6-8 pm at our Christown Spectrum studio.

This morning we hosted @phoenix_cm with guest speaker @juliakarrys at our Christown Spectrum studio. Julia have a wonderful and informative talk about how art - especially clay - can help us to heal from trauma. (See our stories for excerpts!)

This little hanging planter is shipping out to Maryland today. For those who haven't followed me for a while, I started painting the sunflower and hummingbird motif after losing my mom in 2021 to symbolize our relationship. I usually only paint them between her birthday in March and Mother's Day each year, but sometimes I will create them whenever I'm missing her. I hope this one brings peace and comfort whenever the new owner looks at it. ❤️

I have only a few pieces left in my @etsy shop and at the studio, but I'm happy to make some if anyone is interested in ordering. I'm missing her lately, so creating a few would be cathartic.
